Producing for Kansas City PBS

Kansas City PBS is the metro’s trusted source for information, entertainment and inspiration. We engage in local production partnerships to help us tell the stories of our community and deliver a broad lineup of content that reflects the diversity of the audiences we serve.

As we develop content for broadcast and digital, we welcome ideas, works in progress or those seeking a distribution platform for finished products. If you are interested in submitting an idea for consideration, please complete the project proposal form via the link below:

Meetings to greenlight potential partnerships are scheduled quarterly. 

2024-2025 Meetings:
April 2024 (Materials Due by February 29, 2024)
July 2024 (Materials Due by June 28, 2024)
October 2024 (Materials Due by September 27, 2024)
January 2025 (Materials Due by December 13, 2024)

*We review all materials that are submitted. Invitations to meet with the team are extended only if there is interest in a project. 

Submitting video and audio:

  • Physical Media Format: 1080i 59.94: XD Cam 422 / 50Mb
  • File format Preferred MXF – Apple Pro res 422 HQ, Avid DNX HD, XDCAM 422 50Mb
  • Audio Requirements: Stereo, 48 KHz sample rate, 24 bit resolution, 0 VU = -20 dBFS reference level, -24 LKFS average dialog level (dialnorm). If submission is an audio file, uncompressed WAV, BWF (broadcast wav) or AIFF
  • 608/708 Captions embedded or .scc side car file

Production Services

Our studio and location equipment include two fully equipped sound stages, a mobile production trailer and a range of state-of-the-art cameras, lighting and editing equipment.
