GardenSMART

New season begins Monday, April 25 at 2:30pm

2011 marks the 13th (lucky 13?) season the team at GardenSMART has been producing gardening programming for public television stations. Each season is unique and exciting because we’re never behind a potting bench, rather traveling the country showing off beautiful, unusual locations and gardens. And, there are many fantastically beautiful, one-of-kind gardens that provide gardening lessons galore all across this great land. While there we often feature folks from the local Public Television station on the shows, as we did with Doug Price, President of Rocky Mountain Television in Denver.

2011 is the best yet. We’ll cover all corners of the U.S., feature homeowner’s gardens, historic locations and visit research facilities. Along the way we discover the latest plants and techniques, address “green” and “sustainable” issues, as well as “in” and popular topics, such as “community gardens” and “vegetable gardening.”

Importantly, each week GardenSMART interviews experts/horticulturist that successfully garden for a living. This ensures the information presented is accurate and practical. We’re constantly striving to determine the latest gardening trends, then develop programs that shed light on that topic. The shows are accurate, the information – cutting edge.

Uniting fantastic gardens with exceptional travel destinations allows us to combine a travel demographic with a gardening demographic. This formula enables us to reach your audience and ours. The carriage numbers attest to this fact.

The goal each week is to take the mystery out of gardening, make gardening fun, present new ideas and encourage the audience to GardenSMART. We sincerely thank you for including GardenSMART in your schedule.

Episode One, Season 13: GardenSMART visits a tropical paradise and with a very talented landscape designer takes a garden tour of two very different gardens. One is secluded, the other has incredible “borrowed” views. Both provide tremendous landscaping ideas, no matter where you live. Be sure to tune in.
