TOPIC 1: HERO TO HEEL!
More is becoming known about the circumstances surrounding Superintendent John Covington’s resignation. In a Star story about the district, Gwen is quoted as saying, in part, “We’ve got to lick our wounds and get going.”

TOPIC 2: ANTI-SOCIAL SOCIAL MEDIA LAW?
A Missouri Judge has put on hold a controversial state law regarding teacher and student contact via social media. One of the main criticisms was the law’s alleged ambiguity.

TOPIC 3: CHANGE OF SEASONS 62.
A new Plaza restaurant’s management has succumbed to Facebook and other social media pressure to abandon plans for a “contemporary” exterior. The decision was announced by the restaurant’s president Stephen Judge.

TOPIC 4: UNHAPPY EGGHEADS?
A story on “Politico” suggests that “conservative elites,” are unhappy with the current lineup of GOP presidential hopefuls. Allegedly, many of them regard “Perry as a dope, Bachmann as a joke and Romney as a fraud.”

Woody Cozad was too smug by half when he made that comment about NASA reporting that the level of the oceans is actually lower this year than last. It was clear that Cozad thinks this disproves global warming. It doesn’t. NASA made clear that it’s a pothole effect. A lot of water evaporated out of the oceans and fell, as rain, on land. That water is flowing back to the oceans, whose inexorable rise will continue as before.

I was very disappointed when host Mike Shanahan muffed Airick Leonard West’s name. He is a public servant and deserves the courtesy and respect of being accurately identified.

Obviously, some members just don’t understand that it is the total Spanish look that attracts people to the Plaza; not just a building or two. If the Plaza becomes a “mish mash” of looks, there won’t be the same attraction. Perhaps, someone might do a survey , on the Plaza, Thanksgiving eve, to see what the out- of- towners would think of changing the look of the Plaza. Would they still come?
It, certainly, would not have the same charm for me. I felt great sorrow, when I heard about that stained glass piece and the facade of that place being taken out. But the Plaza doesn’t get much money from me. Let’s see what the people, who spend money getting here, would think.
The one tall glass building looks very much out of place, and more of that would, I believe, cause people to stay home, rather than coming here. I know, I would not spend money going somewhere to see more glass buildings. It is the compilation of all of the buildings with the Spanish look, that matters.
Because of the disagreement on this issue, I believe, such a survey is in order.
But, I must say, Obviously, those of you, who are so unconcerned about the “Plaza look”, I guess, would see no reason for the recent Monet water lily Triptych compilation showing. Seeing the three panels together was important for a lot of people. I went back, in between seeing other things, three times, and now, I have them in my mind’s eye.
I say, you need to do a survey! (Since you are not getting the picture in your mind’s eye.)

Also, my guess is, that Highwoods Properties is not concerned about the Plaza being a visitors’ site, but, instead, would expect to get more money with the Plaza being a commercial office park, rather than a retail area, and, therefore, don’t really don’t care about how many visitors come.
