As Kansas City prepares for a special election on a proposed downtown streetcar line, Imagine KC examines the impact of transit oriented development (TOD) on our metro. In this edition of the show, KCPT’s Randy Mason and Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Chris Leinberger tour some of the streetscape found along the line, with an eye to the commerce and development that its proponents predict will follow.
Afterward, the two head back into the KCPT studios, joined by developer and Downtown Council member Jon Copaken and Raytown Mayor David Bower to discuss more about the long‐range benefits of TOD, and its implications for surrounding cities and suburbs.
