More than two years after Congress passed and the President signed the Affordable Care Act, KCPT goes on location to get a status report on how Kansas and Missouri are implementing the federal healthcare law. Nick Haines talks with regional health leaders and looks at how the law is impacting small business owners, the uninsured, college students and those with pre-existing medical conditions. Is the law working as planned? And what about efforts in Kansas and Missouri to block some provisions from going into effect?
Guests include: Jay Anghoff, Regional Director for U.S. Health Department, Andrea Routh, Executive Director of Missouri Health Advocacy Alliance, Sheldon Weisgrau, Director of the Health Reform Resource Project, Ryan Barker, Public Policy Director for the Missouri Foundation for Health, Cindy Hermes, Kansas Insurance Commission.
