On April 19 the school districts of Spring Hill, Park Hill, Hickman Mills and North Kansas City came together for a “Lunch & Learn” held at KCPT. Lunch was furnished as the school district representatives learned about the many educational services that are provided to teachers across the area.

“It was the Rosa Parks moment,” says one man. June 28, 1969: NYC police raid a Greenwich Village Mafia-run gay bar, The Stonewall Inn. For the first time, patrons refuse to be led into paddy wagons, setting off a 3-day riot that launches the Gay Rights Movement.

We had a lovely time encouraging viewers to support KCPT’s British Comedies and attend the 2012 Brit Com Tea Party at The Aladdin on January 21, 2012.

On January 19, 2013 at The Aladdin Hotel, Kansas City’s biggest fans of British programming came together for an unforgettable afternoon. Hosted by our own Nick Haines, KCPT brought a little piece of Britain into the heart of downtown Kansas City. Featuring traditional food and challenging trivia, the event offered the opportunity for our members to meet and explain why public television is so important to our community. Australian Pink Floyd is the best Pink Floyd tribute band around. They played for David Gilmour’s 50th birthday party, and jammed with the original Pink Floyd band members.
