In this week’s episode of MARKET WARRIORS, pickers Miller, John, Bob and Kevin encounter some southern hospitality at the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market just outside Atlanta, Georgia. This week’s challenge is to find vintage advertising, and in Coca-Cola country, there’s plenty to find. Some notable picks include a rare Red Rock Cola piece, a Sterling Card case and an antique hobbyhorse. Their finds are auctioned at Cowan’s Auction in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Host Mark L. Walberg wraps up ANTIQUE ROADSHOW’s visit to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a stop at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he’s joined by appraiser Alasdair Nichol. The oldest art school in the country, the Academy continues to be a hothouse for some of America’s most promising new artists. At the Pennsylvania Convention Center, experts unveil more masterworks, including a pair of paintings by noted Hudson River School artist John F. Kensett – bought at a yard sale for $35; a dazzling three-carat, Asscher-cut, yellow diamond ring; and a trio of autographed baseballs featuring signatures from the 1944 St. Louis Cardinals, Ted Williams in his 1939 rookie season and an authenticated autograph from Babe Ruth himself in the late 1940s. Together, this triple play wins an auction estimate of $34,000 to $46,000.

The Wabasha Street Caves provide the perfect noir background for host Mark L. Walberg and appraiser Simeon Lipman to discuss the history and collecting of flashlights. Highlights include an 1863 Ulysses S. Grant letter; a circa 1950 Charles Shulz Li’l Folks original cartoon; and two paintings — one by Victor Higgins, the other by Spencer — purchased together for $5, but valued at $75,100-$75,200.

Host Mark L. Walberg and appraiser Phil Weiss are surrounded by military aviation memorabilia for a discussion of animation propaganda produced by Disney Studios during World War II. Highlights include a 1956 Elvis Presley standee rescued from an attic; a portrait sketched by George Gershwin accompanied with letters from the composer to the owner’s mother; and a circa 1885 Franz Roubaud oil painting, valued at $100,000.
