Our Create lifestyle experts will show you how to make the best of summer foods. Mary Ann Esposito adds fresh strawberries to a salad. Caprial and John Pence pick the perfect tomatoes for their recipes and there’s plenty more to taste from Daisy Martinez and Eric Ripert. The flavors of summer are here for all to enjoy!

Chef Charles D’Ablaing of Chaz at The Raphael has created a menu inspired by Monet and the sumptuous meals he served to his friends at Giverny. Enjoy a multi-course meal and wine pairings on Tuesday, July 19 from 6-9 pm in the lovely Chaz dining room at The Raphael on the Plaza.

Monet Theme Dinner Menu:
Mustard Seed Crusted Foie Gras, Calvados, Charred Onion
Moules Normandy (fresh mussels, white wine) & Crusty Bread
Steak au Poivre, Duchess Potatoes, Roasted Turnips
Tart Tatin, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Cinnamon Caramel

La Bodega:

Red Wine: Over the Edge Pinot Noir Martinborough – 2010
White Wine: Meulenhof Wehlener Sonnenuhr Reisling Spatlese – 2009

Cheeses:
Gorgonzola
Pecorino Romano

Jaspers:
Cocktail: Blood Orangcello & Prosecco
Recipe – 1 serving
2 oz. Jasper’s Blood Orangecello (he makes other flavors too, such as apple, watermelon, cranberry and canteloupe, available for sale at the restaurant)
4 oz. Prosecco or other sparkling white wine, well chilled
Serve in champagne flute.

Note: Jasper’s also makes Martinis with the cello, garnish with complimentary fruit.
