Every week, we receive two types of emails regarding Check, Please! Kansas City: one type suggests a restaurant for KCPT to review; the second comes from a viewer requesting to be on the show.
As the producer, my reply to both emails always begins with, “I’m tickled to death to get your email! It tells us you’re watching KCPT!” (And I mean it!) Then, I explain to the first emailer that KCPT does not review these restaurants (nor does KCPT share the opinions expressed on the show).
The ONLY way a restaurant can be considered is by someone submitting an application to be a guest reviewer, and then naming that restaurant as a favorite. I send all emailers requesting to be on the show to kcpt.org/checkplease to fill out a reviewer application. If you’re interested in being on the show, by all means, fill out the on-line application below! The trick is to be clever, memorable and have a restaurant we haven’t featured yet.
