With exclusive eyewitness testimony from key figures in the drama — including the Japanese prime minister and senior executives at the power company Tepco — FRONTLINE tells the story of the workers struggling frantically to reconnect power inside the plant’s pitch-dark and highly radioactive reactor buildings; the nuclear experts and officials in the prime minister’s office fighting to get information as the crisis spiraled out of control; and the plant manager who disobeyed his executives’ orders when he thought it would save the lives of his workers. The story profiles the Japanese soldiers and firefighters drafted to cool the reactors, who were wounded when the reactor housings exploded; and the families, living near the nuclear plant, who unknowingly fled in the same direction as the radioactive plume, exposing themselves to dangerously high radiation levels.

All the changes seem to have worked. Rave reviews poured in for the new venue in KCK. The team made the playoffs. Attendance went up 84 percent. Merchandise sales went up 475 percent. And team TV ratings went up more than 100 percent. How’s that for a turnaround?

This week, we’re joined by one of the team’s top star’s and biggest goal scorers, Kei Kamara.

Here is a look a look at his journey from Sierra Leone to Kansas City and his return to play for Africa’s national team:

Every state is receiving funds to create what is known as a “high risk insurance pool” for uninsured people with pre-existing medical conditions who are unable to afford or obtain coverage on their own.

Still, many people either don’t know about the program or aren’t taking of advantage of it because of red tape or the cost of premiums. In Kansas and Missouri, they are trying to eliminate the obstacles and have launched an awareness campaign. Randy Mason sat down with top officials from both states to help spread the word.
