This year’s EarthWalk will take place at City Market Park May 3. It’s a three-mile route that takes walkers along the Riverfront Heritage Trail. All pledges need to be turned in by the start of the walk.
There is no fee and participants can register online and create their own personal fundraising page for the chance to win great prizes like a week-long trip to Colorado.
EarthWalk is the annual fundraiser for Bridging the Gap, and Sadie Gardner, program manager for Keep Kansas City Beautiful at Bridging the Gap, said it supports a lot of local recycling programs.
“This is Bridging the Gap’s big annual fundraiser that supports our regional environmental programs such as Heartland Tree Alliance, Keep Kansas City Beautiful and Kansas City WildLands and recycling efforts. All of our programs are supported by this one great event.”
This event will feature electronic recycling, a community yard sale, green friendly exhibition and a puppet show. All donations are tax deductible, and prizes will awarded from the EarthWalk stage after the walk.
