“Kansas City PBS is an important part of our lives on several levels. Being informed on matters large and small, local and across the world is important to us both. Sustaining an institution that binds and brings our community together is worthy of our support as well. We couldn't be more pleased to be both sustaining members and now a part of the Legacy Society. We look forward to enjoying Kansas City PBS now and in the future.”

How to Give

Bequests

Including Kansas City PBS in your will is an easy way to make a generous gift. You have several options about how you name Kansas City PBS as a beneficiary:

  • You may wish to leave a fixed dollar amount. You will need to specify exactly how much you would like the station to receive.
  • Another option is to give a percentage of your estate.

Full legal name of Kansas City PBS: Public Television 19, Inc.

Federal Tax ID: 23-7114952

Suggested language you might use in your will to designate Kansas City PBS as a beneficiary may be found here.

Charitable Gift Annuity

The Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) is simple to complete and provides income for you and another individual of your choice as well as tax benefits.

In exchange for your gift of cash or marketable securities, Kansas City PBS agrees to pay you (and/or a loved one) an annual sum for the remainder of your life (lives.). The amount of the annuity is based on the age of the income beneficiaries: the older you are, the higher the rate you will receive.

CGAs can be established with a gift of $10,000 or more and qualify you for an immediate income tax deduction. And, a portion of the yearly income is tax-free.

Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts

A Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust is a gift plan defined by federal tax law that allows you to provide income to yourself or others while making a generous gift to Kansas City PBS. The income may continue for the lifetimes of the beneficiaries you name, a fixed term of not more than 20 years, or a combination of the two.
